Methodology

The VaultSomm Collectible Wine Index is a proprietary composite tracking quarterly performance of the seven fine wine regions that account for the majority of collectible auction activity globally. Regional inputs are derived from live secondary-market data (retail comps and auction results) aggregated at the appellation level, with condition- and vintage-adjusted price paths.

The index is published within four weeks of each quarter-end (March, June, September, December). New periods are added to this page as the current period; the previous quarter moves to the "prior period" section, and older quarters are archived in the section below.
