For professionals · Family offices & wealth managers

An asset your clients love. Reporting your office can stand behind.

One place to see every cellar a family holds, with estimated values, a published method, and access for the people who need it.

Today

The problem you face today.

  • Fine wine often sits in a spreadsheet at cost, if it is recorded at all.
  • There is no current value, no record of how one was reached, and no single view across homes and storage sites.
  • Reports are assembled by hand when an estate, a gift or an insurance renewal comes up.

What VaultSomm does

Three things VaultSomm does for you.

  1. One view across cellars

Each cellar keeps its own records. Family members and advisors sign in with their own logins as editors or viewers, and every change records who made it.

  2. Values with a method

Estimated values from auction and retail comparables, refreshed quarterly, with our proprietary methodology.

  3. Reports when you need them

Capital gains, estate inventory and gift schedules, bought once per report.

Review: The plan promises "fair value from realized auction prices (Level 2 / Level 3 disclosed)" and "ASC 820 dated valuation runs". The auction-based engine passed its accuracy bar on 2026-09-11 but the cutover to it is not yet decided, so the page says what the live engine does. A member can switch between the cellars they belong to; there is no consolidated cross-cellar dashboard today.

In your work

What changes for you.

Values on a schedule, not on request.

Every bottle carries an estimated value, refreshed each quarter, with its dated history kept.

An audit trail.

Every change records who made it and when. Sales record a price; gifts record the recipient.

Documents where the bottles are.

Receipts, photographs, appraisals and auction records attach to the bottle they belong to.

Owned by the family, shared with your office.

The family member owns the cellar and invites the office as viewers or editors, each with their own login.

Reports from records you already keep.

Capital gains, estate inventory, gift and charitable schedules come from the same records, whenever the year-end or the event arrives.

Working together

How it runs, start to finish.

  1. One account per cellar

Each family member’s cellar is its own account, in their name.

  2. Invite the office

They add your team as viewers or editors from Settings; you sign in with your own login.

  3. Keep it current

Values refresh each quarter; receipts and appraisals go on the bottle as purchases happen.

  4. Report when it matters

Year-end gains, a gift between generations, an estate: the report you need, when you need it.

Why trust it

The discipline the rest of the balance sheet gets.

  • Each report is dated, so every number an advisor sees is tied to a point in time.
  • The valuation method is published, so an advisor can see how a number was reached.
  • A cellar is visible only to its owner and the people they invite, at the role the owner chose. See the privacy policy for more details.

Review: The plan cites a "Big Four capital-markets background"; the About page says "over fifteen years in capital markets, financial advisory, and audit", so that wording is used. Decide whether SOC 2 (Supabase Team plan, about $7K a year) is required before this page goes live.

Questions

Questions we hear first.

Can we see all the family’s cellars in one place?

Yes. Each family member invites your office into their cellar as a viewer or editor. You sign in once and switch between every cellar you have been invited to.

How is a value reached?

From auction and retail comparables, weighted with critic score, condition and vintage. The method is published on the valuation methodology page.

Who can see the family’s data?

Only the owner of each cellar and the people they invite, at the role the owner chose. An account can be deleted at any time. See the privacy policy for more details.

Review: The first answer describes the cellar switcher: an invited member signs in once and moves between the cellars they belong to. There is still no combined total across cellars, and the answer does not claim one.

Review: Sample report PDFs (from Customer 001’s cellar, names removed) are not built; both CTAs open email.
